The journey of a medical professional is defined by a commitment to lifelong learning and a transition from academic foundation to specialized expertise. My journey began at the University of Puthisastra (UP), where a rigorous eight-year medical program established a deep-seated foundation in General Medicine. Complementing this clinical training with a Bachelor’s degree in English for Business from Cambodia Mekong University (CMU), I have cultivated a unique profile—one that balances clinical precision with the communication skills necessary for leadership in the modern healthcare environment.
My clinical identity was forged in the wards of Cambodia’s most prominent tertiary institutions. From managing acute trauma cases in the Traumatology and Visceral Department at the Cambodia-China Friendship Preah Kossamak Hospital (CCFPKH) to stabilizing pediatric patients in the Intensive Care Units of Angkor Hospital for Children (AHC). This broad exposure allowed me to master the complexities of different patient demographics, from neonatal emergencies to geriatric surgical care.
Currently serving as a Medical Doctor for the Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC), I have extended my expertise into the high-pressure world of Sports Medicine. In this role, I am responsible for the health and performance of the Cambodia National Football Teams. This position requires not only diagnostic speed but also a deep understanding of musculoskeletal health—a passion that is further evidenced by my completion of specialized training in AO Trauma fracture management and the FIFA Diploma in Football Medicine.
Beyond the clinic and the pitch, I am a researcher and a community leader. My medical thesis, focused on the management of Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) at the National Paediatric Hospital (NPH), demonstrates a commitment to improving public health outcomes through evidence-based research. Furthermore, my leadership as a Covid-19 Vaccination Team Leader with the DA-UYFC reflects a doctor who understands that medicine is a service to the nation, especially during times of crisis.
As I prepares to defend my thesis and transition into a Doctor of Surgery Trainee program, I stand as a clinician who has successfully integrated the roles of a medical researcher, a sports medicine specialist, and a dedicated surgeon-in-training. I remains driven by a singular goal: to provide high-quality surgical care that significantly improves the lives of his patients and the standards of the Cambodian healthcare system.
